Alcoholic Architecture

Going out for a drink has never been easier thanks to this latest project from Bompas & Parr. Located on an ancient monastery in Borough Market, the six month-long event, Alcoholic Architecture, debuts the concept of breathable alcohol. The innovative food scientists have used humidifiers to create a walk-in cocktail cloud, which visitors then absorb through both their lungs and eyeballs. The air is saturated with fine spirits and mixer, and additional drinks are sold which complement the taste of the air. Protective suits are provided so that visitors’ clothing is not damaged by the 140% humidity. The experience, which takes 50 minutes (equivalent to one liquid drink), costs £10 and promises to be an extremely successful event.

Monmouth Dean were extremely happy to be involved in the recent letting of part of the 15th floor of The Shard, one of London’s most iconic buildings. Located in the heart of London and offering stunning views over the rest of the city, The Shard is in high demand. We feel sure that the people lucky enough to work there will be looking forward to trying out food science’s latest offering!
